A Smarter Mobile World

Reliance Communications, a powerhouse in mobile device and accessories distribution for many of the world’s leading wireless carriers, saw an opportunity to launch its own line of mobile and home devices — one that could give many of its partners a run for their money.

Based on the brand attributes of “simplicity,” “assurance” and “limitless choices,” we explored a series of names that evoke the attributes, stand out in the competitive mobile space and appeal to a diverse set of audiences with various ages, backgrounds and languages.

The client’s final choice was “Orbic,” lightly coined from the word “orbit,” which is a metaphor for a new world of smarter devices and accessories that enhance lives wherever users go.
