Tanj Branding LLC ("Tanj", "we", "us") is a naming and brand-language studio. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we use cookies, and the choices and rights you have. Effective June 25, 2026.

Information we collect

Information you give us — your email address when you sign up for our newsletter or request a guide, and any details you include when you contact us (for example, your name, company, and message).

Information collected automatically — when you allow analytics cookies, we collect standard usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, referring site, device and browser type. We do not collect this until you consent.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We group them into three categories, and nothing in the Analytics or Marketing categories is set until you opt in through our cookie banner.

Necessary

Required for the site to work — they keep your session and remember your cookie choices. These are always on and cannot be switched off.

tanj_consent — remembers your cookie preferences. Necessary. Stored ~180 days.
tanj:guide-subscribed — remembers that you already requested a guide so we don’t ask again. Necessary. Stored in your browser until cleared.

Analytics

Help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager). These tags only load after you accept the Analytics category.

_ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics. Distinguish visitors and sessions. Set by Google. Stored up to 2 years.

Marketing

Used to measure and personalise campaigns. We currently run no marketing tags on this site; this category is reserved so that if we add one in future it will only load with your consent.

Changing your mind — you can revisit or withdraw your choices at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. We also honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track browser signals: if either is set, we keep analytics and marketing off automatically.

How we use your information

To send you the guide or newsletter you asked for, and only that, unless you opt into more.
To respond to enquiries you send us.
With your consent, to measure and improve the site through aggregate analytics.
To keep the site secure and to meet our legal obligations.

Legal bases (EEA / UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent for marketing emails and for analytics/marketing cookies; legitimate interests for keeping the site secure and functioning; and legal obligation where the law requires us to retain or disclose data.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, under contract and only as needed:

Cloudflare — website hosting and content delivery.
Sanity — content management and image delivery.
Brevo — newsletter and email delivery, when you subscribe.
Google — analytics, when you accept the Analytics category.

Some of these providers are based in the United States; where we transfer personal data internationally we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe, and enquiry messages for as long as needed to handle your request and our records. Cookie data is kept for the periods listed above.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in its footer. To make any other request, email us at the address below — we will respond within the time the law requires.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date at the top of this page.
