Here’s one that was really fun for us to work on.

The Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA) has a longstanding charitable foundation whose purpose is to inspire, attract and support people in discovering the potential of a career in manufacturing.

The previous name for this foundation was Nuts, Bolts and Thingmajigs — a fun name for sure, but one that felt old-fashioned and clunky. FMA came to us to help them telegraph their charitable arm’s mission in a shorter, more modern name that would help them spark a connection with their young audience.

It was also important that the new name be broad enough to allow for growth and change in the fabrication and manufacturing world. While nuts and bolts are part of it, it also includes things like robotics and automation, and will certainly continue to grow and flex in years to come.

We created the name SparkForce to convey that this foundation exists to spark interest and growth in a bright manufacturing workforce. Succinct, strong, modern and flexible, SparkForce hits the mark on every dimension.

We’re glad to see this name in place to help FMA’s important work toward empowering young people and building the next generation workforce.
