Butterfly has always led from the front—engineering the rubbers that define professional table tennis. When they set out to launch Zyre , their fastest, fiercest rubber yet also named by Tanj, they needed a technology brand to highlight the innovation powering it — and future rubbers to come.

The brief pointed to three pillars: the form (an ultra-thin, super-dense sheet), the function (optimized energy transfer into and back out of the ball), and the feel (greater power, speed, and control). The task: create a name that could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Butterfly’s portfolio, technical yet globally simple, descriptive but alive with energy

Our answer: Ricosheet

A fusion of “ricochet” and “sheet,” it captures the snap of energy transfer, the technical structure beneath the surface, and the dynamism players feel on every strike. Short, memorable, and easy to pronounce worldwide, Ricosheet gives Butterfly a technology brand that conveys both credibility and excitement.

Today, paired first with Zyre and primed to scale across the portfolio, Ricosheet is more than a feature name. It’s the performance engine behind Butterfly’s next era of innovation.
